The Time is Now

I can't stop footering with this website. I don't know if you have noticed but there are a few wee glitches here are there and I can't stop tinkering and trying to figure out solutions and workarounds.

I am constantly thinking about Blog posts. I have always loved writing and finding an outlet for the random thoughts and blaaaah in my head has been nothing short of liberating.

Why am I telling you this?

Well - for months I put off trying to put together a website. I am 51 and while I am a whizz at the old Google and emails, the thought of actually putting together a website for myself just seemed a bit much; too technical...for the young tech geeks only. I was overwhelmed with different providers and a tidal wave of YouTube tutorials. I did everything I could to avoid tackling what seemed like a gargantuan task; I wrote flyers, I designed forms and I basically faffed about.

Eventually - there was nothing else to be done. Nothing except the website.

And initially? I was totally overwhelmed. The terminology, the acronyms, the overall scariness of actually tackling something that had been in my head for months almost put me off pursuing it. I had almost decided to pay for a designer to put something together - or my 9 year old niece! One or the other.

Once I actually sat down and started to chip away at the task it became less scary. Once I began to get to grips with what I wanted and how to achieve it, it became less overwhelming. Once I had the basics on the screen, it became downright creative and enjoyable.

And now I can't sleep because I want to add more and write more and design more and.........

What is holding you back? What is it you have always wanted to do but decided to wait? Wait until life is quieter. Wait until you have more money. Wait until the kids are grown. Wait...wait ...wait!

Get this though - the fears we do not face? They become our limits. By turning our back on those fears we make a decision to live a smaller life. If you are ready to deal with that then fine.

If you are ready to face those fears; dismantle them and find out just how fragile they really are?
