Dreams Have No Deadlines

I may have stolen that from Oprah! Aaaaanywayyyyyy.....

For years I dreamed about having a life that I thought would never actually happen. Even as as young as my mid 20's I remember wishing I could find a job where I could talk to people and make them feel better. Coaching was not really a recognised 'thing' then and I had no idea how to even make something substantial out of those thoughts.

It was the same when I actually approached a Coach August 2021. I had turned 50 years old and I knew I wanted to something different - but I didn't know what and and I didn't know how to start.

So how can a Coach deal with this? No set goals, no indication as to why the client wants coaching...where do we start?

Initially I wanted to do something creative. That was it. It was all I had. Creative.

Writing? Perhaps. Painting? Unlikely. Drawing? I am more of a doodler.

Through amazing coaching - I stopped worrying about getting a best selling book.

Through amazing coaching I ceased getting bogged down by my inability to figure out how to get my doodles onto cards and into shops.

Through amazing coaching I took the first tiny step. I bought an Apple pencil. That was it ..that was the action! With the Apple pencil I created drawings on my ipad that I could mess about with until they looked pretty good. I drew loads of wee doodles and within months I had them on cards, mugs and fridge magnets.

But it started with the pencil.

Regardless of what your wishes look like, there are always things you can do to bring them a step closer. Don't lose track of the final goal but also, don't get overwhelmed by the enormity of your dreams. You don't need to achieve everything right now; today.

Just a baby step towards it starts the momentum....sets you on the path and develops that growth mindset. It's the baby step that opens your mind and heart to all the exciting possibilities in front of you. After that baby step, there will be no stopping you.
