Don't Believe the Hype

I love a bit of TikTok - don't judge an old bird like me but I fall down rabbit holes of DIY, recipes and exercise info that I know I will never use!

If any of you are on TikTok you may have seen the new filter you can use - it supposedly makes you look like a teenager again.

I have sooooo many issues with this - and as I write this I know that I sound like a grumpy old bint but i think I probably am so there is that.

TikTok is full of actual teenagers. They don't need this filter. They don't care because as we all remember from being a teenager - they can never imagine what it feels like to be a grumpy old bint. It is not going to happen to them of course - no one understands them and none of the oldies even KNOW what is means to be a teenager.

Us old ones. We don't need this filter. Who needs to remember our teenage years now we are older? Regardless of how you found them - they are gone and never to return even if TikTok tries to tell you otherwise.

This is life right? I know I am being facetious about the TikTok filter but don't we all reflect on the past and worry about the future? Compare who we were to who we now are?

Living in the now is often spoken about but so difficult. It is hard enough inside our own head to keep things in the here and now. Social media is fantastic but also problematic.

So - actions to consider

Be Grateful - Actively and Consciously

Grateful for what?

Life, family, lungs to breathe, your morning coffee, your partner, Netflix, sunshine, your footy team, the chocolate doughnut in your bag....

Once you actively think about these things the positive begins to outweigh the negative and you are on a winner.

Move More and Scroll Less

We all know this and there is no point in thrashing this to pieces. I also feel bit of a hypocrite on this as I am crunched over my laptop - phone within arms reach. But I try!

Life is here. Life is now. Embrace your history but live your now and you can create your own glorious future!
